Overview
"By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.” ~ Confucius.
Young adults systematically learn musical instruments, math, martial arts, and many other skills and subjects. Why not wisdom? I reject the idea that only the old can be wise, and that wisdom is acquired only through trial and error.
I divide wisdom into three major areas:
- Logic and math
- Experience, as encapsulated in proverbs, sayings, quotations and concepts
- Intuition
The Wisdom Course section of this website has eight lessons covering all three areas. The Logic & Math, Experience and Intuition sections contain supplemental course material. Also, the Proverbs (subsection of Experience) and 2x2 Matrices (subsection of Logic & Math) sections are useful by themselves.
I encourage teachers to evaluate and use the curriculum for free, and incorporate any or all lessons where and as they see fit.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Note to the Users of the Original LifeWisdom.com Website:
The Experience section now contains the listing of proverbs by category. Click on Experience, then Proverbs.
